Large Linen Cages

In large-scale laundry operations, moving batches of wet textiles between sorting, washing, and dispatch areas requires continuous floor handling. These large linen cages are designed for this internal transport cycle. They are used to collect, store, and move bulk volumes of linens, towels, and uniforms within the facility. The structure helps maintain clear aisles in intake and processing zones while supporting stable batch flow from collection points to industrial washing lines.

The frame is manufactured from Q235 mild steel, selected for structural stability under heavy wet loads. The surface is treated with galvanization to improve resistance against moisture, detergent exposure, and humid wash environments. The base is fitted with 5–6 inch casters, available in nylon or PP configurations depending on floor conditions. Swivel functions support directional movement in narrow laundry aisles, with optional braking units for positioning during loading. Each large linen cages are designed for a working load capacity of 600 kg+, supporting continuous daily handling in laundry facilities.

Advantages

Nestable design: Units stack into each other when not in use, reducing occupied floor space in storage and return areas.

Caster system: Swivel wheels with optional brakes support controlled movement through tight internal corridors.

Half-drop front gate: Front access section allows direct loading and unloading of heavy textile batches without full lifting.

Wire structure: Welded mesh is finished to reduce sharp points and prevent snagging on processed linens.

Configuration options include an internal wire divider for dividing towels, bed linen, or uniforms during transport. In hospitals and healthcare facilities, low-noise rubber caster sets can be applied for reduced floor noise on tiled surfaces.

Application

The handling process begins at the intake dock, where large linen cages receive bulk soiled textiles from hotel or facility collection routes. Units are moved into sorting and wash zones using manual or trolley pushing. During processing, cages remain in designated staging areas for batch separation and workflow control. After washing and folding, the same cages are used for internal distribution to packing or dispatch zones. When empty, units are nested and returned in compact rows to intake areas, minimizing return transport space and maintaining a consistent material flow across the laundry facility.

Product Specification

Two base structures are available for these large linen cages: A-frame and Z-frame designs. The A-frame configuration supports tighter nesting depth and is commonly used in facilities with limited return storage space. The Z-frame version provides a wider base footprint, offering higher stability during long internal transfers or heavier batch loads. Selection depends on internal transport distance, average batch weight, and available loading equipment. Both configurations are compatible with standard laundry handling systems and forklift-assisted repositioning where required.

Production Process

Production is carried out in-house, covering steel cutting, forming, welding, surface treatment, and final caster assembly. The galvanizing line is controlled to ensure consistent coating thickness across all mesh and frame components. Monthly output supports large-scale facility deployment and ongoing replacement demand. Manufacturing focus is placed on joint strength and frame strength to ensure stable performance in continuous high-frequency laundry handling environments.

Quality Control

Each large linen cages batch undergoes caster rolling endurance checks under loaded conditions to verify movement stability and resistance to wheel deformation. Nesting alignment is tested to ensure smooth nestability and separation without jamming during return handling.

FAQ

Q: How can I optimize storage space when the containers are not in use?

A: When empty, the containers are folded and nested together and placed in storage corners or return areas. This reduces the space they occupy when they are not active in the warehouse or delivery cycle.

Q: Can the mesh divider be adjusted or removed?

A: The mesh divider can be added or removed depending on how goods are arranged. Some users keep multiple shelf layouts to separate different types of items during sorting, loading, or internal transfer.

Q: What is the best way to move the cage safely?

A: Containers are normally pushed during movement to maintain better control in narrow warehouse aisles. Operators guide the unit by hand or tow point depending on the floor layout and load condition.
