Folded Nesting Container

The folded nesting container is designed around a practical reverse-logistics requirement: an empty unit must be collected quickly without creating a second storage problem.

After goods have been removed, the operator folds the base according to the handling procedure and pushes the empty container into the next unit. The Z/A-frame base creates the clearance required for horizontal nesting, so the units can be consolidated into a compact row instead of being handled as fully separate cages. This reduces the empty-equipment footprint from the stated 850 mm to approximately 225 mm per nested unit, subject to the selected model and nesting arrangement. This distinction is important in high-volume return operations: staff can prepare containers for return by folding the base and nesting the units, rather than dismantling and folding each cage separately.

The operating cycle begins after goods have been delivered to the store or receiving area. Once the products are removed for shelf replenishment, the operator collects the empty container, folds the base according to the operating procedure and prepares the unit for nesting.

The empty folded nesting container are then pushed together into a nested row at the designated return area. This arrangement reduces the amount of dock space occupied during the waiting period and helps keep access routes available for inbound traffic. When the return vehicle arrives, the supervisor or trained loading operator loads the nested units according to the vehicle's capacity and the approved securing method.

At the distribution centre or supplier, the units are separated from the row, the bases are restored and the containers are inspected before being returned to the next picking, replenishment or internal-transfer cycle. The product therefore supports a closed handling loop from store delivery to empty collection, return staging, transport and redeployment.
