Wire Pallet Rack Decking

Wire Pallet Rack Decking

Wire Pallet Rack Decking is for pallet rack locations where the stored unit needs support across the open space between two compatible step beams. The deck uses welded wire mesh and U-channel supports to create a planned bearing surface below pallets, crates, or containers. Its open mesh also allows sprinkler water to pass through the rack level.

A pallet rack level is assigned to a load position, not only to a product name. A pallet with runners, a crate, and a container can touch the rack in different places. Wire Pallet Rack Decking gives that position a mesh support area when the load base needs support between the step beams.
We select the deck for the planned storage position. The load base and listed capacity are then checked for that position. This keeps the deck matched to the pallet, crate, or container used in the rack bay. The open mesh leaves a path for sprinkler water through the rack level.

Advantages

Creates a mesh support area for the load base assigned to a rack position.
Uses listed U-channel supports to rest on compatible step-beam ledges.
Keeps the rack level open below the pallet, crate, or container base.
Let sprinkler water pass through the wire mesh instead of a solid shelf surface.

Wire Pallet Rack Decking Details

Products Customized

We start customization with the storage position. Send us the rack frame depth, beam length, beam step, planned pallet or crate base, and required load for that location. We use these details to set the deck size and review the mesh, wire, and U-channel arrangement. If a rack has more than one load base, each assigned position should be shown on the drawing so the deck can be matched to the planned use.

Wire Pallet Rack Decking can be planned with other rack components when the storage layout needs clear pallet positions. Wire dividers can separate adjacent positions. Pallet support bars can be reviewed where the planned pallet position needs added support. Post protectors and column protectors are selected separately for uprights exposed to forklift travel. Each item should follow the rack layout and the work carried out in that aisle.

Production Process

Mesh welding is a key step in producing Wire Pallet Rack Decking. Cut steel wire is placed in the welding fixture at the required mesh spacing, then joined at each planned crossing point. Separately formed U-channel supports are positioned under the mesh according to the production drawing. After welding is completed, the product will proceed to the next stage—surface treatment—followed by inspection and packaging.

Manufacturing Factory

Quality Control

For Wire Pallet Rack Decking, final inspection includes a seating check for the U-channel supports. Inspectors confirmed that the channels were positioned evenly and followed the approved step-beam layout. If a galvanized finish is specified, the coated surface is reviewed before packing.

FAQ

Q: Can Wire Pallet Rack Decking be used on the lowest rack level?

A: Yes, if the step beams, deck size, and stated load requirement are compatible. The same inspection and load rules apply at every rack level.

Q: Should the deck be checked after forklift contact with the rack?

A: Yes. Inspect the deck, support channels, beams, and uprights after any impact. Do not continue using damaged rack components until they are assessed.

Q: Can different deck finishes be used in one warehouse?

A: Yes. A dry storage area may use zinc plated decks, while a cold room or humid area may use hot-dip galvanized decks. Each finish should match its working environment.

Q: Does the deck change the rack beam load limit?

A: No. The deck has its own rated load, but it does not increase the approved capacity of the rack beams or uprights.
